After School Program

Before and After School Program (ASP) / Summer Camp

We understand that many families need a reliable and enjoyable child care program to meet the needs of working parents. Child care is offered on-site both before and after school. This self-sustaining program provides rich, creative and physical outlets for children. The program is designed to serve SBCS families by being open on days when school is not in session, or the school is closed for vacation.  Additionally, our program is always open on teacher in-service days.  In the summertime, we offer a full day summer camp program.

The ASP and Summer Camp are fee-based programs.  Both programs work with any and all funding sources to make child care for SBCS families as easy and stress-free as possible. For program fees, see the SBCS Before and After School Program Registration Form.

Before School Care (All grades)

7:15 AM to 8:15 AM

After School Care (TK/K)

Half day (M-TH: 1:30-3:00 PM; F: 1:00-3:00 PM)

Full day (M-TH: 1:30-5:30 PM; F: 1:00-5:30 PM)

Drop-in half day and full day

Drop-in is subject to available space. Please arrange drop-in with the childcare director. All appropriate enrollment forms must be completed to be on the drop-in list. A one time registration fee is required with enrollment.

After School Care (1st – 6th Grades)

Half day (M-TH: 3:00-5:30 PM; F 1:00-3:00 PM)

Full days (Fridays only 1:00-5:30 PM)

Santa Barbara Charter School’s After School Program is dedicated to supporting the natural learner in every child. We provide enrichment activities that expand learning opportunities and cultivate the development of community and interpersonal relationships. We believe that there is no such thing as bad weather and embrace all that nature has to offer.

Enrollment

To enroll your child into the ASP program please visit the school website to submit your schedule online on the Signup page or using the button below. 
Enrollment is open all year; if we have not received an enrollment form from you by the first day of school your child will not be turned away, however you will be charged the drop-in rate for care per day.  The Drop-In rate is $50 for half day ( 1:00-3:00 0r 3:00-5:30), and $100 full day care (1-5:30).
ASP schedules are set by the month. If you would like to change your schedule you may do so by the 25th of the current  month. Your schedule change will go into effect for the following month. 
 

Services Offered

  • Daily After School Care from dismissal time until 5:30pm
  • Enrichment Classes; Free Play; Arts and Crafts; Daily Snack
  • Care on in-service days (8:00am-5:30pm on all SBCS in-service days);
  • Winter Break Camp, Spring Break Camp, and Summer Camp may be offered, depending on funding and enrollment. 

Morning Program

If you need morning care, you need to sign up on the website as you do for your monthly schedule. 
If you sign up on the website for monthly morning care, the fee is $5 per morning and you will be billed monthly. 
If you drop-in for morning care, you will follow the same drop-in process mentioned below. 
Note: If you sign up for morning care in your schedule, it is not reflected in the regular fee schedule and will be added to the invoice upon billing.
 
Our Morning Program starts at 7:15 a.m.
Children will not be accepted until that time. TK/Kindergarten students will be walked to their classroom by morning care staff.
